Bird Information
A small and intricately marked wader which nests in scrapes on the ground high up on beaches or shingle banks. The scrape is sometimes decorated with a ring of shells or tiny stones. The Ringed Plover is found all around the shores of the British Isles but breeding areas are constantly being diminished and the ever present threat of predators, including dogs, make this bird a rarer sight.
