The pheasant is one of the most striking and recognisable birds of the British countryside, a large game bird of farmland, hedgerows and woodland edges found right across the UK and much of Europe. This hand carved figure captures a handsome cock pheasant in all its finery, from the glossy dark green head and bold red face to the crisp white neck ring, richly mottled copper body and long, elegantly barred sweeping tail. Beautifully proportioned and full of character, it makes a handsome decorative piece for a shelf, sideboard, mantelpiece or any country or nature loving home.
Each pheasant is individually crafted and hand painted by fair-trade artisans using sustainably sourced materials, so no two pieces are exactly alike, with their own subtle variations in colour and feather detail. Finished with the signature Archipelago teak tag, it makes a wonderful gift for country, shooting and wildlife lovers, or a distinctive addition to a rustic interior.
